Dear friends,

This Summer Solstice we will venture into the Oregon High desert for a weekend of magic, adventure, ritual, meditation, self-discovery and an all-around good time.

The purpose of this retreat is to drop our day-to-day lives to experience a deeper self-knowledge and with that, a powerful transformation in the way we think about ourselves and our place in the world.

When we separate from our ordinary reality and go into the quiet of the desert to contemplate, pray, meditate or seek guidance from whatever divine source we may honor, the experience is very powerful. Especially in a group gathered with that intention.

On a mythic plane, think of a desert retreat as the heroic journey of the Spiritual Warrior within each of us where the Warrior may encounter his or her own demons and angels.

On the physical plane, a retreat is a symbolic exercise in survival. Through change of focus, intention, environment, and diet, we enter into a highly sensitive state of bodily awareness and feel the connection we share with nature and all living things. Certain bodily states may bring up issues about personal survival and may present the opportunity of moving through these fears with unexpected sources of strength and power.

On the trans-personal or spiritual plane, in a desert retreat we seek self-knowledge enriched by the wisdom of the unconscious speaking symbolically through our dreams, visions and synchronous events.
Our retreat experience becomes the awakened recognition of ourselves as:

"spiritual beings having a human experience rather than human beings having a spiritual experience,"

A simple, but powerful change in perception that can make great positive shifts in our individual and collective world consciousness.
